The Saab 2000 multi-role Maritime Patrol Aircraft equipped with the fifth generation AESA and RBS-15 Anti-Ship missiles is being offered to the Indian Navy to meet the growing challenges in India's maritime domain stretching across 2 million square km. Combining endurance with capability, the Saab 2000 is an ideal partner for the Indian Navy's requirement of an aircraft with long range, extended time on station, fast response, long service life and anti surface warfare capabilities.
The Saab 2000 MPA is a high performer providing lot of operational flexibilities for various operation scenarios.
The Saab 2000 MPA has a cruising speed of 350 knots, it can climb to an altitude of 20,000 ft in 10 minutes, reaching operating area 1,000 nautical miles afar within three hours. It can operate from high altitude airfields, taking off with maximum load and fuel even at very hot temperatures. Flight safety is maintained throughout all flight conditions, including single engine operations, where the aircraft can maintain altitude at 20,000 ft.
The Saab 2000 MPA can operate at a maximum range exceeding 2000 nautical miles, with mission endurance exceeding 9.5 hours.
The Saab 2000 MPA can carry out a mission covering a 200 nm Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) for 5.5 hours at an altitude of 2,000 ft, or longer patrol times at higher altitudes even up to 31000 ft. The aircraft on offer comes with promised 35,000 flight hours and a guaranteed support for 25 years by SAAB. The Saab 2000 MPA comes equipped with Saab RBS15 anti-ship missile system. Its unique Command & Control (C2) system facilitates a seamless planning of missile launching zones, trajectories and target seeking activities.
The missile launching sequence and priming are controlled by customized Store Management Unit. Saab 2000 MPA which is being offered for India's Medium Range Maritime Reconnaissance (MRMR) program will be equipped with the state-of-art Selex Fifth Generation AESA radar and RBS-15 Anti Ship Missile.
The Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar onboard SAAB 2000 MPA is a modern high performance system that supports the full range of maritime surveillance and coherent imaging modes used for both naval and overland operations. The AESA radar provides Saab 2000 MPA with Identification Friend-or-Foe (IFF) capability with customized interrogator functions.

India busca 4 LHD,s:
Indian Navy launches Request For Proposal for 4 amphibious vessels (LHD type)
Saludos.
Indian Navy launches Request For Proposal for 4 amphibious vessels (LHD type)
Several international groups should answer the request for proposal. French shipbuilder DCNS with its Mistral class (BPC) already serving with the French Navy and soon with the Russian Navy, the Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri with its Multifunctional Ship (MS), Spain's Navantia will likely offer the Buque of Proyecciones Estratégica (BPE) and South Koreans shipbuilder Hanjin Heavy Industries could offer their amphibious assault ship from Dokdo class.

Otra vez.

Armada India
After 23 years, INS Viraat on its last leg
The 28,000 tonne aircraft carrier INS Viraat will be withdrawn from service after 23 years in the water, with a survey to assess the internal condition of the carrier’s hull already being commissioned.
Results of the review will be examined at a high-level conference next month following which a call be taken on a time-bound withdrawal of the carrier. “How long the hull could service will be checked,” a senior Navy officer said.
The carrier was commissioned in the Royal Navy in 1959 and later inducted into the Indian Navy in 1987. Since then, the carrier has undergone four major and one minor refit, the last one in July 2011. The Navy intended to use the carrier till 2020, which far exceeds its shelf life, sources said.
However, with Russian origin aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya scheduled to be inducted on December 4, 2012, INS Viraat, in all likelihood, will be withdrawn from service before 2020.
Dwindling number of Sea Harrier jets, which were upgraded recently, that fly from INS Viraat’s deck has also contributed to the early retirement of the carrier. At present, India has less than a dozen operational Sea Harriers.
The upgraded aircraft are capable of air-to-air refueling and carrying “beyond visual range missiles.” In February, air defence capability of the Viraat and potential of the Harriers were tested in an exercise in a networked environment.
INS Vikramaditya, built at a cost of $2.35 billion, will have a life span of 40 years. The carrier will have 100 per cent new pipeline, 100 per cent new cabling and 80 per cent new hull. However, internal structure of the hull can not be changed.
After its takeover by India in December, the carrier is scheduled to stay in the Russian yard for some more time for the completion of “pre-passage technical works.” It will arrive in India in the first half of 2013.
A fleet of MiG-29K naval fighters designated for INS Vikramaditya have already arrived. The on-board arrester wire of the carrier has been designed to support the MiGs and indigenous naval version of the Light Combat Aircraft.
