Pues para haberle "estallado" el motor curiosamente la parte donde esta metido se ve en muy buenas condiciones....
No se porque todos los medios tienen la mania de que los aviones siempre estallan.

No es por generalizar, pero la mayoria de los periodistas no tienen mucha idea del tema, y suelen poner bastantes barbaridades (como en este caso).
Supongo que dejarian el aparato orientado hacia una zona despejada para impactar o se eyectaron en cuanto pudieron sin tener en cuenta eso?
Por cierto que los restos se ven bastante intactos para haber "estallado". No creia que quedaran asi...

El ACES II tiene un rail bastante largo y 30° de inclinación....el problema, es el "push" del flight stick y el "push forward" del throttle, por acción de rocket exhaust gases del ejection seat .....que modifican la dirección que tenía el aparato, inmediatamente después del bail out.
En este caso la pérdida del motor inutiliza cualquier movimiento significativo del throttle......pero el flight stick, sí es problema.
El Viper en las fotos, parece conservar muy bien el path descent, prácticamente 0° Roll.......pero cerca (muy cerca) de la torre de control. Es fácil imaginar la reacción de los controladores....si es que alguno se quedó en la torre.....
Afortunadamente no se perdieron vidas.

EADS CASA construirá junto al aeropuerto de San Pablo (Sevilla) un nuevo edificio, que tendrá tres hangares y se destinará a la fabricación de aviones del programa A400M. Con una inversión prevista de 5,83 millones de euros, las obras durarán un año. Las funciones de estas nuevas instalaciones son: servicios de venta, posventa y seguimiento de la calidad del nuevo avión militar, así como apoyo a las actividades complementarias de la escuela de pilotos del A400M, aunque después será trasladada a una nueva sede en la misma zona. Debido a las grandes dimensiones del aparato, la edificación tendrá una altura de 29,50 metros -para dar cabida a las grúas y al material necesario para el ensamblaje- y contará con una cubierta única en forma de ola, que permitirá una iluminación natural.

The Finnish Air Force (FAF) intends to purchase the MLU Program equipment to enhance survivability, communications connectivity, and extend the useful life of its F/A-18 fighter aircraft. It has extensive experience operating the F/A-18 aircraft and should have no difficulties incorporating the upgraded capabilities into its forces. The FAF needs this upgrade to keep pace with technology advances in sensors, weaponry, and communications.
The proposed sale of this equipment and support will not affect the basic military balance in the region.
The prime contractor will be The Boeing Company of St. Louis, Missouri. There are no known offset agreements proposed in connection with this potential sale.

Boeing has already started building a huge C-17 aircraft for the swedish armed forces, inspite of the fact that the swedish government haven't taken any decision on the matter.
Tomorrow the new swedish government will discuss spending 10 billion SEK (~1.34 billion USD) on two new aircrafts for the swedish armed forces.
But Boeing has already started building a giant C-17 aircraft, meant for Sweden.

Boeing has revealed details of the proposed F-15E+ “Super Eagle”, which is being offered as a “fourth-generation plus” fighter stopgap to the US Air Force in case of significant delays to the Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF).
The new-build proposal, expected to be offered at a target price of $59 million (2006 US dollars) versus roughly $60 million-plus for the baseline F-35, would be available in 2012-13 assuming an authority to proceed decision in 2009. “That would butt-up against when the last F-15SGs [for Singapore] come off the line,” says Boeing USAF programmes business development director, Dick Banholzer. Although acknowledging the lukewarm reception the proposal has so far received from USAF chief Gen Michael Moseley, Banholzer says the F-15E+ is being offered “in the event of a catastrophic event like JSF being delayed. We have an option available to him that fits the needs of today.”
Boeing is detailing the proposed aircraft’s capabilities to underscore that the “F-15E+ is not your father’s Oldsmobile. The chief of the air force says: ‘I like F-22, F-22 and F-22’. That’s his first, second and third priority. That’s his party line and he’s got to say that. But we have to educate people to let them know what this aircraft is, and what it could do,” Banholzer says.
The F-15E+ package extends both weapons and sensor capabilities, he adds. Equipped with the Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System and a yet-to-be-determined active electronically scanned array radar, the aircraft would have smart weapons carriage capability on up to 19 stations. Advanced weapons options include LJDAM, Brimstone, HSSW and an extended-range, powered small diameter bomb.
Offered with an enhanced electro-optic sensor suite including navigation and targeting pods, as well as an infrared search and track system embedded in the pylon, the Super Eagle would also have a more sophisticated self-protection suite. Comprising an emitter locating system, ALE-50 towed decoy, and AAR-57 missile warning system along with jammers, chaff-flare and radar-warning receivers, the make-over is designed to allow the Super Eagle to “survive in a modern high-threat environment”, he adds.

Two F-15E Strike Eagle fighters carried the Small Diameter Bomb into Iraq Oct. 5, marking the first time the smart munition has been deployed during combat operations.
The Air Force jets based at Royal Air Base Lakenheath, in the United Kingdom, provided close air support for ground troops, according to a statement released the same day by U.S. Central Command Air Forces. “Specific targets, basing, detailed weapons loads, bomb damage assessment and operating areas for the F-15E Strike Eagle aircraft is not releasable at this time due to security considerations and host nation sensitivities,” the command said.
The aircraft, deployed to the “Southwest Asia area of operations,” began their mission at 1:30 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, according to the statement.
“Today, we added an extraordinary capability to our warfighter's arsenal,” Lt. Gen. Gary North, the combined forces air component commander, said in the statement. “This new air-to-ground munition gives our warfighters the explosive power of a conventional bomb without the fragmentation and blast area of other weapons in our inventory.”
The munitions are useful in urban environments “that call for precision accuracy and reduced collateral damage and in close air support missions that our air crews find themselves in during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom,” North said.
The munition is capable of raining pinpoint precision explosives on enemy targets from up to 60 miles away. Each of the 250-pound, Global Positioning System-guided munitions can be independently targeted. A proximity sensor in the nose of the bomb also allows it to detonate at a preprogrammed distance from its target.
The F-15E Strike Eagle squadron, and its corresponding aircraft maintenance unit from Royal Air Force Lakenheath, is the first unit deployed in the global war on terror with the capability to drop the SDB, according to U.S. Central Command's statement. Air crews began training on the academics of the bomb and started using simulators in May.
Air Combat Command chief Gen. Ronald Keys this week signed a memorandum declaring the munition has surpassed its initial operational capability milestone. Members of the Air Armament Center's 681st Armament Systems Squadron at Eglin Air Force Base, FL, took part in the Iraq operation to “provide expert advice” as the bomb and aircraft were integrated for combat operations, according to U.S. Central Command.
Lawmakers on Capitol Hill have shown support for the smart munition. House and Senate conferees fully funded Air Force procurement of the Small Diameter Bomb in the fiscal year 2007 Defense Appropriations Act and in the FY-07 defense authorization bill.
Last month, ITAF first reported the Air Force had certified the F-15E Strike Eagle as capable of operating and deploying the SDB.
The SDB program completed all of its testing and training a month ahead of schedule and within cost estimates, Gary Libell, the Air Force's SDB weapon's test and logistics manager, told ITAF during an interview at the time.
The F-15E is certified to carry 12 SDBs into combat in three carriages. Without its external fuel tanks, the aircraft can carry 28 bombs in seven carriages, George Spencer, the service's director of the F-15 Systems Group at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH, said in an August interview. By next spring, the Air Force hopes to certify the fighter to carry up to 20 SDBs into combat.
In July, the first F-15Es were fitted with a training version of the SDB rack and with electronics that allow planes to drop simulated bombs, according to an Aug. 22 Air Force statement. During F-15E test launches, the munition was successful in 35 of 37 launches, a SDB program office official said in August.

Primera entrega de NH90 para las Fuerzas Armadas griegas.
Eurocopter entregará los primeros helicópteros NH90 a las Fuerzas Armadas griegas en los próximos meses. La firma del contrato para la adquisición de 20 NH90, por un valor de 657 millones de euros, más 14 opciones para el Ejército griego tuvo lugar el 29 de agosto de 2003, en Atenas. De estos veinte aparatos, 16 son para transporte táctico y 4 para operaciones especiales, que deberán ser entregados a lo largo de los próximos años. Además, todos pueden ser transformados en variantes de evacuación sanitaria mediante 4 kits médicalizados. Las 14 opciones comprenden 12 versiones de transporte táctico y 2 de operaciones especiales. Los NH90 están equipados con motores Rolls- Royce Turbomeca RTM322-01/9.

Entregado ya el Eurofighter número cien.
La entrega de los Eurofighter BS021 y BS022 a la Royal Air Force marca la entrada en servicio del avión de producción numero 100. El aparato se entregó oficialmente el pasado 29 de Septiembre, fecha en la que se cumplía otro hito de programa alcanzando la flota de aviones de ensayos, operados por las industrias de las cuatro naciones, los 5000 vuelos de ensayos. La flota de aviones, operados en Getafe (España), Manching (Alemania), Turín (Italia) y Warton (Reino Unido) comprende actualmente 5 prototipos de Desarrollo (DA), 5 aviones de producción instrumentados (IPA) y un avión de producción en serie instrumentado (ISPA).
