La tarde va cayendo y la obscuridad se viene.
Algo me preocupa, BAVIVAS y sus Tucanos. Mí última incursión con A-37 se mostró inefectiva y se saldó con la perdida de todos los aparatos involucrados y los daños infligidos fueron escasos. Hay que darle un repaso a esa AB de avanzada.
Analizo mis opciones y el objetivo.
Tengo 8 Mirage en CACOM 1 armados con bombas y ready. También conservo los últimos 4 A-37 en CACOM 2 en configuración de ataque.
BAVIVAS está defendida con AAA Bofors y CAP de CF-5. Esa combinación resultó letal para mis Dragonflys, así que usar los aparatos de CACOM 2 será un desperdicio. Ahora usando los Mirage tendré más opciones frente a la defensa de la AB por su mayor velocidad e infligir más daños debido a su mayor carga útil.
He aprendido la lección, creo dos pack de ataque con parejas de Mirage. Los mismos tienen vectores de ataque con ángulos de entrada opuestos al objetivo. Adicionalmente les asigno como escolta el par de Mirage que tenía haciendo CAP en CACOM 1. No es que tenga muchas esperanzas de batir con ellos a los CF-5 venezolanos armados con Sidewinder, pero me ayudaran a crear mayor confusión y dar más chance a los grupos de ataque de batir el objetivo. La caída del día también me ayudará. Despego a 10 minutos para las 17 horas.
Media hora después, las Mk 82 dejan su rastro de destrucción en BAVIVAS. La triple A ruge tratando de acertar alguno de los cuatro Mirage que atacan desde distintas direcciones y que huyen a todo gas en direcciones opuestas. La pareja de CF-5 se divide tratando de cazar a los incursores, pero la mayor velocidad y la sorpresa del ataque los ha dejado confundidos. Rompemos la barrera del sonido y nos adentramos a nuestro territorio sin enredarnos con la CAP.
Aterrizamos a salvo los seis aparatos en la maltrecha CACOM 1, mientras cuando menos 4 Tucanos arden en las tocadas instalaciones de BAVIVAS.

Mientras tanto en el Caribe...
Estudio mis opciones.
Sólo conservo a flote a la Antioquia que navega muy al norte. El pequeño Quitasueño patrulla la costa norte de la península. Aún mi arma silente esta intacta. Ya he perdido dos Corbetas tratando de mantener presencia militar en las aguas del golfo o derrotar a la ARV. Voy a renunciar al objetivo militar.
Con la destrucción del puente Rafael Urdaneta he logrado el objetivo estratégico, si logro hacer mella en los buques petroleros de Venezuela, lograré el objetivo económico, que sumado al estratégico me dará cumplimiento a los requerimientos del escenario.
Esperaré la noche, que ya está cerca, para minar la boca de la bahía de Amuay con uno de los enanos y con el otro atacaré con el uso de minas lapa, cualquier buque petrolero que identifique como perteneciente a la flota de PDVSA.
Hasta este punto, el relato ha alcanzado al desarrollo de la partida. Para la próxima entrega se verán los resultados del ataque de los enanos a Paraguaná.
