Colombian Engineers To Help With Reconstruction of Cinchona
Following the ending of the Fifth Summit of the Americas meeting, Costa Rican president, Oscar Arias, announced that Colombia will be sending military engineers to help out with the reconstruction of houses damaged by the January 8 earthquake in Cinchona.
Arias said he had asked his Colombian counterpart, Álvaro Uribe, for help, as Colombia has experience in the field.
Colombian officials are expected this week to contact the Comisión Nacional de Emergencia (CNE) - Costa Rican national emergency commission - to co-ordinate and finalize the details of the arrivals of the Colombian engineers in Costa Rica and the time they will stay.
