During a presentation at the Singapore Airshow, George Standridge, vice-president of business development at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics noted that most legacy F-16s can be upgraded to the F-16V standard, which is roughly equivalent to the F-16 block 60.

http://f-16.net/news_article4521.html

El f-16 MLU puede tener estas capabilidades ? :D

The “Viper” program will offer customers options, including an active electronically scanning array (AESA) radar, upgraded mission computers and architecture, improvements to the cockpit, and conformal fuel tanks.

No creo que usted puede saber mas que los responsables de lokheed martin !

300 Paratroopers Will Participate in Leapfest

More than 300 paratroopers will participate in a Rhode Island National Guard tradition on Saturday, August 6, 2011, when they participate in the 29th edition of Leapfest at the University of Rhode Island and West Kingstown Elementary School.

The Rhode Island National Guard’s Leapfest is the oldest and largest continuously conducted static-line parachute competition in the world. Though it is a multi-day training event, the competition which is held on Saturday has always been the exercise’s centerpiece.

The paratroopers hail primarily from the United States; however, foreign countries are always represented. In years past, airborne troops from such diverse countries as El Salvador and Bulgaria have competed. This year’s foreign teams include representatives from Morocco, Holland, England, Italy, Germany and Canada.

The Leapfest competition commences with a colorful 7 a.m. opening ceremony at URI’s turf fields by the Ryan center. Teams of four paratroopers then jump three times from CH-47 helicopters at 1,500 feet and try to race to a large orange “X” in the center of the West Kingstown Elementary School turf fields on Rte. 110, 3119 Ministerial Rd., West Kingston, RI. Each team has three attempts, and the team with the lowest aggregate time is declared the winner. Individual awards also are presented to the troopers with the lowest aggregate times

New Moroccan F-16 Squadrons.

Some details have recently emerged of the squadrons which are operating the new RMAF F-16C/D Block 52s.
The aircraft are based at Ben Guerir AB (BA 6), where they are flown by 'Escadre de chasse Atlas Falcon'. It is now known that the unit has 3 'Escadrons de Chasse' which are named 'FALCON', 'SPARK' & 'VIPER'.

A total of 12 F-16 have so far been delivered to the RMAF. In other related news, L-3 Link Simulation & Training (L-3 Link) announced on February 14 that an F-16C Aircrew Training Device (ATD) built for the RMAF has reached "ready for the training status" on schedule & is now being used for pilot instruction. The ATD is installed at an unspecified base (presumably Ben Guerir), & is the 1st of 2 being built by L-3 Link for Morocco. The 2nd is scheduled to be ready for training in the 2nd quarter of 2013. Each ATD is integrated with L-3 Link's 9-panel, 350° field of view SimuSphere visual display & the SimuView image generation system, providing correlated imagery between out-of-the-window & cockpit sensor displays.

During simulation exercises with these advanced ATDs, RMAF pilots can acquire & identify targets, deliver a wide range of weapons, practice take-offs & landings, undertake in-flight refuelling & practice emergency procedures.

Royal Moroccan Air Force's F-16 Aircrew Training Device Achieves Ready-for-Training Milestone

ARLINGTON, Texas | L-3 Link Simulation & Training (L-3 Link) announced today that an F-16C Block 52 Aircrew Training Device (ATD) built for the Royal Moroccan Air Force (RMAF) has reached ready-for-training status on schedule and is currently supporting pilot instruction.

The F-16C Block 52 ATD is installed at an RMAF air base. The simulator is the first of two RMAF F-16C Block 52 ATDs built by L-3 Link under this program. The second trainer is scheduled to achieve its ready-for-training milestone during the second quarter of 2013.

"Royal Moroccan Air Force pilots are now training on the most advanced F-16 Aircrew Training Device ever fielded to an international military," said Dan Kelly, vice president of Air Force programs at L-3 Link. "The F-16 Aircrew Training System will enable Royal Moroccan Air Force F-16 pilots to hone their air-to-air and air-to-ground combat skills within highly realistic operational environments while operating as a team."

During simulation exercises, pilots will be able to acquire and identify targets, deliver a wide range of ordnance, practice takeoffs and landings, conduct aerial in-flight refueling, and undertake emergency procedures.

Each F-16C Block 52 ATD is integrated with L-3 Link's nine-panel, 360-degree field-of-view SimuSphere visual display and the SimuView image generation system, which provides correlated imagery between out-the-window and cockpit sensor displays.

The last of twenty-four Block 52 fighters for the Royal Moroccan Air Force takes off for its first flight on 15 March 2012 from NAS Fort Worth JRB. Morocco is the twenty-fifth nation to operate the F-16. The aircraft will be delivered later in 2012.
