"Iran's Mottaki in 'good talks' with IAEA chief
Sat, 06 Feb 2010 15:57:46 GMT
Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said Saturday he had held a "very good meeting" with the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) over a nuclear fuel swap proposal.
"Today I had a very good meeting with the head of IAEA, Yukiya Amano," Mottaki said on the sidelines of a major security conference in Munich.
"We discussed and exchanged views about a wide range of issues ... We also exchanged views about the proposal that is on the table. I tried to explain the views of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the director general," he said..."

Mottaki: Political will exists for fuel swap
Berlin, Feb 7, IRNA – ...On the sidelines of 46th Munich Security Conference and before departing for Tehran, Mottaki told reporters that he evaluates situation for reaching a comprehensive agreement 'positive' and added that factors for this exchange are under consideration.
...
Concerning Tehran Research Reactor and its fuel, Mottaki said that we have three options of production, purchase and exchange of fuel to meet our need.
He said the third option is a way for other sides to exit existing situation. On the amount of the uranium to be exchanged, Mottaki said it will be determined upon needs and mutual dialogue..."

"Russia rejects sanctions on Iran's economy
Sat, 06 Feb 2010 19:06:42 GMT
Russia has indicated that it will agree to any new sanctions against Iran only if the punitive measures target the country's nuclear program and not its economy.
"If in future hypothetically, if new sanctions are imposed, we are sure that sanctions should be limited to non-proliferation only," Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov told reporters in the German city of Munich.
The sanctions, he explained, should "not be expanded to cultural, humanitarian, economic parts of Iranian activity."..."

Islamabad, Feb 7, IRNA -- A senior Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir here on Saturday viewed that it would be very difficult for US to impose more sanctions on Iran if China joins the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project..."

"In Iran, Larijani says West after 'political fraud'
Sat, 06 Feb 2010 19:24:24 GMT
While Tehran remains open to "honest" nuclear cooperation with other countries, Iran's Parliament (Majlis) speaker criticizes the West for following double standards and spiteful approach regarding the country's nuclear program.
"The fact is that you (Western powers) seek a type of political fraud. You want to coax the enriched uranium out from Iran," Fars News Agency quoted Ali Larijani as saying on Saturday.
"We will make our own decision about enriched uranium for the Tehran research reactor. We do not need the West's sympathy," he added..."
Saludos.
PD.

"Iran says starts production of two new missiles
TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran officially started production of two new missiles on Saturday, state radio said.
Defence Minister Ahmad Vahidi inaugurated production lines for the Qaem anti-helicopter missile and for the Toofan-5 anti-armour missile, it reported.
Iran is embroiled in a dispute with the West over its nuclear programme and often makes announcements of progress in its military capabilities.
"Upon the mass production and the delivery of these modern weapons to the armed forces, the country's defence capability would improve in land and air warfare," the semi-official Fars News Agency quoted Vahidi as saying.
State radio said Toofan-5 carried two warheads and was able to destroy armoured personnel carriers and tanks. It did not say where the production was located.
Vahidi described Qaem as a light-weight, guided missile "that is able to destroy low-altitude air targets, particularly armoured combat helicopters," Fars reported..."
